By now you’ve likely heard the news that the American Pain Society (APS) is restructuring and will no longer host its Annual Meeting. However, the Conference on Analgesic Trials (CAT) event created by the APS Clinical Trials SIG will continue in 2020. The fifth Annual CAT will take place in Washington, DC on Tuesday May 5, 2020, with program and further details to be announced. This is a full-day conference.
CAT is a forum for researchers from industry, academia and regulatory bodies to share ideas and disseminate the latest best practices in the design and conduct of clinical trials in pain. Previous speakers have included current and former FDA analgesics division directors Sharon Hertz, MD and Bob Rappaport, MD, as well as other top experts from around the field. Up to 200 pain researchers have attended each year to hear presentations and participate in open Q & A. The goal is to facilitate knowledge sharing, discussion and networking.
